Why We Built Sunrise Therapy Services (And What We Do Here)
Hi, I’m Erin Randol, therapist, owner of Sunrise Therapy Services, and someone who spends a lot of time sitting with moms who are thinking:
“Why am I reacting like this?”
“Why does this feel harder than it should?”
“I don’t feel like myself anymore.”
This work came from seeing a very specific gap in how we support women, especially moms.
And more importantly, how often those moms don’t have access to the support they desire.
What We Believe About Therapy
Most of the women I work with are already insightful, capable, and doing a lot. What they’re missing isn’t effort.
These moms want to recognize and accept…
why their reactions feel so big
why certain moments with their kids hit so hard
why they can hold it together all day and then lose it at night
why they feel stuck in patterns they know they don’t want
At Sunrise Therapy Services, our work is about helping you make sense of that so you can actually respond differently, not just try harder.
What We Offer at Sunrise Therapy Services
Sunrise Therapy Services is based out of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and we provide virtual therapy across Missouri, Illinois, South Carolina,Vermont, Florida, and Alabama.
We’re a small but highly specialized group of therapists who are intentionally niched in the work we do.
Our Areas of Focus
Postpartum depression, anxiety, and OCD
Mom-rage and emotional overwhelm
Pregnancy after loss, miscarriage, and infertility
Childhood trauma and how it shows up in parenting
Family conflict and boundary work
ADHD and autism for both kids and parents
Overstimulated, depleted, “I can’t keep doing it like this” moms
We use modalities like EMDR, IFS, ACT, and other evidence-based approaches, but more importantly, we know how to apply them in real life, not just talk about them.
The Kind of Clients We Work Best With
Most of our clients are the ones who say things like:
“I feel like I’m overreacting but I don’t know how to stop.”
“I don’t want to parent the way I was parented.”
“I’m constantly overwhelmed and touched out.”
“I look fine on the outside but I’m struggling internally.”
They want clarity, and that’s what we’re really good at helping with.
My Work Outside the Therapy Room
In addition to seeing clients, I also provide guest speaking, trainings, and workshops for organizations, schools, medical providers, and community groups.
Topics I Speak On
The topics I’m most often asked to speak on are the ones people don’t always say out loud:
Mom-rage and what is actually underneath it
Postpartum mental health and how to recognize it early
Pregnancy after loss and the emotional complexity of it
How childhood experiences show up in parenting
Supporting moms of neurodivergent kids
Emotional regulation for overwhelmed parents
The mental load and invisible labor of motherhood
What We Hear From Clients
(That You Don’t Always See Posted as Public Feedback)
Not everyone leaves a public review, but inside sessions, we hear things like:
“I wouldn’t have handled this like I am now a year ago.”
“I finally understand what’s happening in my brain.”
“I don’t feel as reactive, and that’s huge for me.”
“This is the best postpartum experience I’ve had, and therapy is the difference.”
That’s the kind of change we’re aiming for.
Not perfection, just more understanding, more intention, and more steadiness.
We Don’t Work in a Bubble
Good mental health care doesn’t happen in isolation.
We regularly encourage clients to build a support system that includes:
Primary care providers for medical and medication support https://www.guardianprimary.com/
Lactation consultants for postpartum and feeding support https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61582700698178#
Perinatal providers and doulas for pregnancy and birth experiences https://www.bloomtherapist.com/about-andrea-crafton
OT, PT, and speech therapists for developmental and sensory support https://www.elitetherapywellness.com/
Because when all of those pieces are working together, everything gets easier to navigate.
